Recommended charter in the Grenadines

Hi, anybody have any experiences with bareboat chartering in the Grenadines? Companies that you recommend or not? Any advice or information would be appreciated.

We did a bareboat with Moorings out of St. Lucia. Monohull 43', & took it south to Tobago Cays & back. Man & wife. Always an island in sight. Stayed in Bequia down & back, & also spent a night in Mustique. We were cautioned to avoid St. Vincent, so we didn't stop there. The trip was some great "big boy" sailing, especially compared to the BVI's.

I just did an internet search....couldn't find the debate here.

Some pretty eye opening stuff.....

The Bahamas can be dangerous and in Trinidad and Tobago the murder rate has quadrupled in the last 10 years. Trinidad, Jamaica and Barbados are beefing up their coastguard operation to try and stamp out the import of drugs."

Interesting, I had no idea....esp about the ARMED robberies on boats.....

Such figures can be misleading when grouping like that. Considering North America as homogenous when the rates vary from 21.5 in Mexico to a quarter of that in the US and a third of that in Canada gives a somewhat distorted view, as does doing so for the Caribbean (per your post), particularly in light of their small populations.

My wife and I have taken The Moorings from St Lucia to Grenada on two occasions. As recommended, we avoided St Vincent on the second trip, after experiencing aggressive "boat boys" at the customs bay of Wallilabou. That aside, we enjoy Bequia, Mustique (rolly anchorage), Salt Whistle/Mayreau, Tobago Cays, PSV, Canoun, and Grenada. You can do a one-way charter to make this a comfortable itinerary.

We had a great 10 day charter out of Grenada three years ago. Horizon Yacht Chaters out of True Blue Bay. Grenada was the prettiest and friendliest island we've been since the South Pacific.

Sounds a lot like the trip we did a couple years ago. Just a few different stops.

What 43 were you on? Our 43.3 is in St. Lucia - No Regrets.

Agree with Moltuti. We toured the nutmeg plant and the ladies gave us bags of it to take home. We met a number of people who expressed their gratitude for the US's support in taking their island back from the communist coup during the Reagan years. We also went to the nature center on the southeast side -- mangoes and guavas could not have been tastier! Beautiful island. Enjoy!

I am also thinking of doing this trip. St. Lucia to Grenada one way. My question is how is the best way to arrange flights? Is there a good service flying back to St. Lucia from Grenada so the flights back to the U.S. would be round trip from St. Lucia?
