Practical Info for Cruisers visiting Brazil

A very good day to you all!!!
As we are cruising along the Brazilian Coast (and have done so for the last three years..) I thought it would be interesting to post some practical ins and outs on various cruising spots, anchorages, what to expect etc..
Just started our blog (Ocean of Dreams) where i will be posting info as we go .. (currently you will find updated info on Buzios, Cabo Frio and Arraial do Cabo, all in the state of Rio de Janeiro).
Take care, and pls feel free to comment.

Great idea.
I cruised that coast a few years back, planning to do it again and would be interested to check what has changed, particularly as you move up the coast - Vitoria, Porto Seguro, Camamu and other places further north up to Fortaleza.

Keep in Touch

Sounds like a good idea to me. Something you can keep up on in your travels as your information will probably be up to date.

Ok thanks Astrid, as we are sailing/cruising along we will report what is going on, and share the info with this forum. As we find, not a lot of cruising guides around on Brazil...
Take care

Wow! the pics are so beautiful. The orchids are the best. Thanks for the show and MORE MORE MORE...
When you go back up the coast stop in Cartagena Columbia ( just east is Santa Marta... much nicer) take a bus to Medellin and go to the Orchid garden there. It is the Orchid capitol of the world.
Keep up the blog. It is just an adventure to visit.

Re: Practical Info for Cruisers visiting Brazil

Hi guys:
I'm heading for Brazilian coast when I'm finished with the Cape of Storms and will be looking for info on the ports to stop at going south. I have been to Puerto Seguro and Vitoria (by land) and have heard good things about ports further north.
Nice pics.
Pete

Hello Everybody...

Just so you know... Yesterday added to our blog (Ocean of Dreams) some nautical tips and info regarding the beautiful colonial town of Paraty (state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

Next will be some writings re Angra dos Reis and Ilha Grande....
In the mean time the water is wonderful, the slopes are green, and the beers are cold....

All the best and pls feel free to comment,
