Point Pleasant NJ to Philadelphia -Amt of time??

How long would you think it would take to sail from Point Pleasant NJ to Philadelphia via around Cape May? This would be in a 27ft Catalina.

Thank you!

All depends on the weather - just went the other way in a 30' Fraser - from Chesapeake City to Cape May, mainly motoring at around 5.5 knots, was around 12 hours.

Leaving Cape May we motor sailed past Atlantic City, then the sun went down, the wind shifted and we had 20 - 25 knot winds on the nose from the N-NW and sailed making 11 miles in 8 hours - must have sailed 45 during that time - before putting in to Manasquan.

So, watch the weather. Make sure the engine works, and allow extra time to stop (Atlantic City and Cape May are your two harbours on the Atlantic after leaving Manasquan / Point Pleasant). Also catch the tide wherever you can.

Safe journey!

Are you planning on sailing point to point or pulling in each night?
Pulling in each night here's the route:
Manasquan to Atlantic City
Atlantic City to Cape May
Out the back Door of Cape May and up the Delaware to anchor north of the C&D canal...figure a 12 hour day! Leave on ebb tide so you only fight it in the broader bay (stay in shallower water!) and use the flood tide to get you up the narrow part of the Bay.
Finally...C&D to Philly on a flooding tide.

Sailing point to point I would say about 30-35 hours.
