Planning an April Charter in Exumas

I am in the planning stage of a 7 day cat charter in the Exumas, April 2020. I'd appreciate any opinions on the following:

1) Recommendations on cat charter companies out of Nassau? Out of Georgetown?

2) I've read other posts recommending a point to point charter from Georgetown to Nassau, or vice versa. We could probably extend our trip to 9 days. I assume that winds favor the Georgetown to Nassau direction? What cat charter companies out of Georgetown will do the one way charters?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Planning an April Charter in Exumas

Wow! I was also planning to do a bareboat charter in April in Exumas. I was planning to go the week after the Easter holiday.

The weather looks amazing and the cruising grounds look awesome. I was just in Annapolis, Maryland, for the Annapolis Sailboat Show. I spoke to both Moorings and Sunsail regarding their bases there. They said they are very popular.

Now, having said that... their prices are a little extreme. Is it me or do they charge whatever they want??? In any case, I definitely want to go but Moorings wanted almost $10,000 USD for 7 days. If you think that's fair, then they definitely have boats available. For me, it was a bit steep. Granted, it includes FUEL and INSURANCE for a nice 40 foot catamaran, but still... a little too expensive for me.

Let's talk and discuss cruising grounds! I definitely see myself going there next year in 2020.

Re: Planning an April Charter in Exumas

I am interested in this thread. We have always bareboat chartered in the BVI. Looking at Exumas for 2020.
We are finding the boat costs are a lot higher, and the leap from Nassau south(then North) seems to take out a couple days to account for possible weather.
I hope I am not hi-jacking but adding to the thread...
I have two questions.
1) Are there any charter outfits actually out of the Exumas themselves? (Other than those that just charge you the $1000-$1500 repositioning Fee).
2) What is the best sailing guide book for Exumas?

Thanks,

I am chartering a 514PC from Moorings April 18, 2020 - 24th. Are you all still planning a trip? Any answers to these questions?
