Penobscot Bay, Maine

Thought you might all enjoy this video I put together from our charter with Bucks Harbor Marine. We went in September and it was great, perfect weather, no fog and it certainly wasn't busy! This was our 3rd charter and it was perfect to stretch my pilotage skills, which you don't need much of in the areas we'd been to before (BVI's and St Maartin). The wife said no waves after St Maartin / St Barths and Penobscot Bay delivered on that !

Re: Penobscot Bay, Maine

Nice. We love cruising December. We were in that area the first two weeks. We may have crossed paths.

My wife and I almost bought Bucks Harbor Marine a few years ago. In fact, that experience is what directly led us to our current live aboard lifestyle and future cruising plans.

Here is a video of sailing under spinnaker from Isle Au Haut to Castine. Also taken with a GoPro 3 black.

Check out our blog for our trip log.

Thanks. Spinnacker run looks awesome. Agree on Bucks Harbor, it was an amazing spot. Where do I find the link to your blog please? I'd be very interested to have a read.

September and October are my favorite months to sail down east. Seems like the weather and paucity of other cruisers conspire to insure ample mooring, dockage and quiet anchorages.

What a great video share, must have missed it last time was in here! Thanks for sharing, that is the area we are aspiring to be in the near 'someday'
May I ask where/which bridge you were going under?
