Passage to Turks and Cacos from W Palm

Looking for suggestions on which route to take from W Palm to Turks and Cacos. Inside thru the Bahamas, or down the outside. This is the second leg of a Charleston SC to Panama Passage. Do not plan to stop in the Bahamas due to the high check in fees, but have not decide which route to take. Time is not an issue, more concerned about possible large ship traffic and hard stuff on the inside passage. Also figure a good breeze will be available on the outside, and not so sure inside. Planned passage will be mid to late Nov in a 45 sloop. Discussion appreciated.

TIA

Can't really help you, but hope to have other readers respond to this question too.

In 2002, we purchased insurance at great expense to sail my newly purchased boat from Martinique to Canada, my home. The policy had an exclusion, that it would not include the Turks and Cacos. The policy broker didn't know why.

Any ideas?
