Passage from Gibraltar to The Canary Islands?

I'm about to make the passage from Gibraltar to The Canary Islands. Has anyone got any advice on ports of call in Morocco, or any other tips?

Re: Passage from Gibraltar to The Canary Islands?

We went over to Ceuta, then down to Tangiers, and finally down to Rabat before we crossed over to the Canaries. Tangiers was interesting, but dockage was crazy and expensive. We were rafted off two other boats, and then another one rafted off of us, and they still charged us full price. Rabat was fabulous and I highly recommend it. The marina there is fabulous! And the city is great for exploring; very friendly people and lots to see and go. Rabat is a super place to leave your boat and explore inland for a couple/few days. When we were there in November 2009, the marina was new and it was only $100/week with free wireless internet & showers! I don't know how much their rates are now, but if you have time you should go there. You need to call them on VHF radio before you get there & they will meet you at the mouth of the river to guide you up the river to the marina.

You might want to take a look at this couples comments and pictures of Rabat.
