Oriental NC boatyard

Can anyone recommend a yard in Oriental or near there that can offload a 32' sail from a truck, rig it and launch? Looking at early to late October.

In Oriental there is Deaton and Sailcraft. I use Deaton. Give them a call and see what they can do for you.

Will second sailcraft. Both deatons and sailcraft are good yards. Sailcraft tends to cater more toward the DIY crowd but they also have a full staff of excellent pros. Mark the rigger knows his stuff and has a passion for the work.

Oriental is a great place to get work done onboard.

Will add my vote for Sailcraft. Mark has worked on and checked my rig several times. Very good and very knowledgeable.

Re: Oriental NC boatyard

Deatons is a good choice, though you may have to watch the tides getting out as some shoaling has occurred in the entry channel.

Another choice might be where I am currently located, True World Marine, Beaufort, NC (ICW mile 197 on Adams/Core Creek) This is about 15 miles south of Oriental, and about five miles from Beaufort sea port, and about six miles from Morehead City.

Either choice would work for you, though I suspect that True World might be more cost effective.
