Wow, looked up the
C&C 44 and the average mast height is about 62.5 ft to 63 ft. With 66 ft that pretty definitely negates using the Intracoastal Waterway anywhere there are fixed bridges - which is pretty much the whole thing. Don't forget you have to add in any fixed antennas and lights, etc. sticking up above the top of the mast.
- - So you would be able to do the Delaware River and C&D canal to the
Chesapeake Bay down to Norfolk, but thereafter you would be "outside" in the
Atlantic Ocean. And there is plenty of nasty
water out there that time of year, not to mention having to round some nasty capes.
- - You might be better heading out to sea to
Bermuda then the Bahamas/Caribbean before turning west to
Panama.
