Mark: I'm curious where you were sailing? These were the same types of reports I got before sailing from Channel 5 (Islamorada/Marathon) to Punta Gorda early this past June. We saw probably a grand total of 30 or so traps in 3-4 clusters, we never came close to any of them without even deviating course. Not sure when the commercial season is, maybe that was it, or were you somewhere else in FL Bay? thanks, Pete

His post was from March of 2010....

Crab season ends May 15th, most of the pots are gone by then
