Music on St John

So we are finally here. Now what? Where can we find a little evening entertainment that's dinghy distance from the mooring field or anchorage?

I must of missed something.

By St. John do mean St. John USVI?

And if so by moorings do you mean Caneel?

Yes to both. Guess I should have been more specific.

We're in Caneel tonight so the "nightlife" is just around the corner in Cruz Bay. But we'll be in other anchorages as the season progresses, and sometimes with visitors. So any suggestions for activities entertainment activities beyond Cruz Bay will be appreciated.

BTW: So far, looks like a great island, just like everyone has said.

Sunset,

We have always considered St. John a great place, but not so much for the night life. There used to be a place in one of the hurricane holes on the SSW side of the island but I’ll be darned if I can remember exactly where. Heck it might not even be there anymore. Your best bet for nightlife is behind you in Red Hook. There you could kill more brain cells than one could ever replace.

We’ve appreciated St. John because it was mostly national park (less commercial business). Trunk, Cinnamon, Leinster Bays to name the close ones. The sugar mill for a real eye opener.

If your going to be in the Virgins the first part of Feb. send me a PM. We’ll be coming in from PR to the BVI’S and I’ll try to help ya out.

Skinny Legs was great. There are a couple places in Coral Bay for music, it turns out. We were also able to find music at the Camp at the top of Maho Bay. (Rest up, it's a long climb to the top!)

Much of the music and entertainment in the USVI can be found either on-line at www.virginislandsthisweek.com, in the Daily News on line or St. John USVI Music: Live Music and Entertainment Around the Island. Let us know if you want to get together either on St John or St Thomas.
