Moving to the Chesapeake and Looking for Info

Hello All,

I live in eastern PA on the Delaware and am considering moving to Maryland in the next year or so to be closer to the sailing culture on the Chesapeake Bay. I am woefully uneducated on what to look for in a new residence, especially as it relates to the sailing lifestyle, and would appreciate any and all tips and information (where the best areas are, where the sailing clubs are located, how to find work afloat, etc.). If anyone can clue me in and give me a place to start it would be invaluable.

Also, if I have posted this in a forum that I shouldn't have I am sorry, I'm still learning the ropes.

Thanks so much! ^_^

Re: Moving to the Chesapeake and Looking for Info

Welcome aboard! The Annapolis area is certainly the heart of sailing on the Chesapeake; however, there are sailing clubs (and cruising clubs) in just about every area -- more concentrated where you find more marinas, and sometimes very specific in certain places (log canoes, nutshells, Typhoons, etc...). You can look at Zillow or for research on homes...obviously more expensive where the action is, and where jobs are. Good luck!
