Mooring Swap - Manhattan for LI Sound

I have a mooring on the Hudson river at 79th street in Manhattan for the season. I would be interested in swapping with someone for about a month who keeps his boat somewhere on the eastern end of Long Island Sound--can be either on Connecticut side or Long Island side, as long as it's somewhere I can reach by train from Manhattan on the weekends. Please send me an email if you're interested.

Just curious. What does a Manhattan mooring cost?

It's not so bad. $1550 for the season running from May to October. The moorings are owned by the city of New York so they don't charge extravagant rates. On the other hand, there's no launch service so everyone has to have their own dinghy.

Have a mooring in Bristol RI if you want to go that far east. Not sure of my summer schedule since we just bought the boat and have a lot of work to do to get it ready. Would probably be late in the season before I would be organized.

Mooring is 1000 lb mushroom.

OK, so I used to complain about San Diego's moorings at $30/mo. There had been free-anchoring which brought its own problems.

Needless to say that wasn't this century.

Sorry, my story is off the subject.

Hi Skipmac, I was thinking of something sooner but I suppose around September would be a good time to go as well. I'll send you a private message with my contact information.

Ironically I was just looking online on how to obtain a mooring around 79th. I live on 72nd and see all the boats out there and have always wondered.

Again ironic, I have a mooring where my Catalina 25 is currently moored in Three Mile Harbor East Hampton.

Wanted to move boat to city to use during the week. When were you thinking?

Email me......
