Mexico Clearance Issues

a few quesitons here -- if i could please

first - is the port cap'n in isl majeras (sp) still requiring a zarpe - on noonsite says yes - of so can we get something from the feds in key west?

second - what charts are being used? i thought i read somewhere that the mexican gov't borrowed a couple of our survey ships and resurveyed their entire coast and created new charts - anyone heard of this?

third - i also thought i read that the mexican gov't also put out a cruising guide to eastern mexico - anyone heard of it?

we are hoping to leave key west sometime late nov early dec and go to mexico and then down the central american coast -

thanks to all

Yes, a zarpe is required for clearing into Mexico, and then every country in CA. You can accomplish all clearances (immigration, customs, agriculture) except for the cruising permit in Isla Mujeres. For that you must go to the PC in Cancun.

so, if you need a zarpe to clear in, and you are coming from the USA, as a US-flagged vessel, what do you give them to serve as the zarpe?

So, to have a Zarpe to clear into Mexico from the US in a US-flagged boat, what to use? A CBP-1300 form? Where does one get it approved in the US on departure?
