Marinas in the Inner Harbor, Baltimore, Maryland

Hello. We're planning on sailing to Baltimore in July and will need a transient slip for a couple of nights. We'd like to hear of anyone's experience with either the Inner Harbor East Marina or either of the Baltimore Marine Centers marinas. Thanks for all responses.

Don't dismiss Anchorage Marina. Recently upgraded facilities and location can't be beat. West marine and safeway right there. Ace Hardware too and all the night life and restaurants you could ever want!

We own a 40' slip at Anchorage, love it there. Walking distance to inner harbor, endless restaurants, easy access to water taxi.

Clean showers, lounge with wifi. Laundry facility. Power and water hookups, pool.

There's a lot of foot traffic on the path along the water but the docks are secure. There are sometimes party people early evening but it's always quit by 10 pm. Message if u have questions.

Pickpaul, Pendragon 35 Thanks for the replies. We're looking for a place with a good view of the fireworks, will be quiet afterwards, and is secure. Is that Anchorage marina?

Re: Marinas in the Inner Harbor, Baltimore, Maryland

My sailboat is at Harborview marina (one of the Baltimore Marine Center marinas) and I recommend it with one caveat. It's on the other side of the marina from most restaurants and shopping (not a problem for me as I live in the highrise condominium adjoining the marina.

Inner Harbor marina East is directly across the harbor from me, close to great restaurants, shopping and two blocks from Whole Food.

Lighthouse point (one of the other Baltimore Marine Center marinas) is adjacent to a supermarket and a West Marine and OK restaurants a few blocks away.

Anchorage marina, as already pointed out, is another good choice.

Inner Harbor Marina (yet another of the Baltimore Marine Center marinas) is adjacent to a Rusty scupper restaurant but not close to any shopping

Instead of asking on CruisersForum you can use ActiveCaptain for current reviews and info on marinas. Did you look here at the interactive cruising guidebook? https://activecaptain.com/X.php

Oh yes, amazing fireworks view in your cockpit from any slip in Anchorage Marina. People blast their air horns at the end!

We've always enjoyed BMC/Inner Harbor Marine (by the Rusty Scupper and Science Center). I think fireworks view from there would be partially blocked though, unless someone else can correct.

See also ActiveCaptain for marina reviews.

The inner harbor marina next to the Rusty Scupper restaurant is great! We stayed there mid-week mid-summer and had the place to ourselves. Lots to do within easy walking distance.

Yes it's secure and it quiets down quickly after the show.

Inner Harbor East docks were not great. They were actually warped in certain slips. That said, the restaurants and Whole Foods are only a block away. Great shopping and a huge health club adjacent to marina. Nice staff and very clean restrooms. Our favorite place and they offer a 3rd night free.

BMC at Lighthouse Point is great. Pool, heath club, ladies can go to a nail salon, great sushi, Tiki Bar, SafeWay, and West Marine. The concrete docks are great. An Uber ride to Fells and Harbor East is about $7.00.

You can even arrange a short haul out to wash the bottom and change zincs. I've kept my Beneteau 45f5 and now Oceanis 50 there over 7 years.

Yes, I believe the fireworks are at Fort McHenry, just across the channel from Anchorage Marina. http://http://promotionandarts.org/e...ly-celebration
