Majahual, Mexico Clearance?
Anyone ever cleared at Majahual?
I know cruise ships come in there so there must be officials. NoonSite is a bit sparse on details.
Any info appreciated.

Re: Majahual, Mexico Clearance?
In 2011 we tried to clear out at xcalak via majahual. No dice. We were told by the port captain that the officials travel to majahaul based on the cruise schedule.
May have changed by now though.

Yes, Ive read that Xcalak is no longer a port of entry. Apparently replaced by Majahual...sometimes.

Chetumal is an option if you want to play the shallow water and q flag game with Belize (or try the Zaragoza canal and let me know how it goes).

Also a thought if mine. I want to explore that area more too.
Have read some things that infer you can get to Xcalac via Zaragoza...so could clear in Chetumal and pick my way across to Zaragoza then Xcalac. My boat only draws 3.5 so shallow water not a problem.
Zaragoza is on the charts, but do you know anyone who has actually transited it?

I don’t “know” them, but I do know that the Mexican navy transits the canal in their patrol boats (draft unknown).

Your list is pretty “soft” on the east coast.

Assuming one has already acquired their TIP, then clearing in is possible at several more areas than indicated on the list.

then a PORT OF ENTRY would not be required.

the list states where to check into mexico.
