Louisiana Marina

Just crossed the Gulf from Kemah, TX to Marco Island, FL.
Wanted to go to marina from the Gulf in heavy weather off of Louisiana need 6 feet depth.
Any suggestions.?

Port of Iberia - take Southwest Pass near Marsh Island into Vermilion Bay, then follow the Acadian Navigation Channel into Weeks Bay, then follow the buoys across the ICW into the channel 6NM into the Port of Iberia. It's been 30 years since I've been there, but don't let the shallow depths on the charts fool you. Large semi-submersible offshore drilling rigs are towed in and out of there all the time...

Maybe try Houma LA. Come up the houma ship canal from Cocodrie La, all the water you need, and a nice public hurricane proof marina right by the ICW bridges in Houma all the power and water you need and not to expensive !!Good food close and markets close. Ive used it a time or to during hurricanes rather then leave the boat behind the house down the Bayou. not bad a place. Bob and Connie

The pearl river is a option, east La. , Pass christian and gulfport have nice marinas.Mississippi . Into lake Pontchatrain has marinas on the north and south shore.

There is also Oak Harbor Marina at Eden Isles. It is to your starboard side just as you enter Lake Pontchartrain from The Rigolets. Depth is fine, we draft five and a half. Their phone number is 985-641-4492.

I was told by the Harbor Master at Pass Christian, Ms. he has more than 6 feet as well, I checked with him last year. Their phone number is 228-452-5128. Not sure of facilities there, though they can fill you in.

Oak Harbor has nearby fuel/ bar/restaurant with docking, clean bathrooms and showers, ice, etc. Their office closes at 5pm. I believe.
