Looking for a ferro in caribean.

Hi... new to the forum... I am a UK citizen and thinking of buying a ferro yacht in the Caribean... I look on ebay.com (ebay USA) and see some fantastic bargains... I dont seem to be able to find any thing in the Caribean... any advice, I dont know if they will let me into the US... I HAVE A MINOR POLICE RECORD.

I am an electrician with many years live aboard experience in the UK, I wonder where is it poss to work in the Caribean with out a work permit if any where?

If I just get on a plane with my tools will they let me in? ... Can I buy a boat and move from island to island to avoid deportation?

Where is a good place to start... BVI, Jamacia etc... any websites with boats for sale worth looking at etc etc...

Thanks in advance.

No. The Caribbean is not the Wild West. Its a group of, mainly, civilised countires. Even the incivilised ones wont let you take jobs from locals. And you might be a bit sus at the airport with a backpack of clothes and a steel trunk of assorted spanners and a one way air ticket. They just arnt that stupid.

Don't know about the rest but in the Bahamas, the locals are very aware of economic opportunities. They aren't going to let some outsider do work under the radar. They will let each other do things under the table but not you. And you can't hide. It's like a bunch of connected small towns. Everyone knows everyone's business.
