Any recommendations/costs associated with keeping a '82 Allmand Sail 31 in or around Nassau for a year or more? Is theft/vandalizism an issue? Thnks

Expensive even if you can rent someone's private dock. Yes, theft is a problem.

Making the (long) day trip to Florida and keeping your vessel at a marina there would be much safer weather wise and crime wise.

I have two friends who each have had their sportfishing boats stolen from a slip in a marina in the Bahamas. Neither have ever recovered their boats or been able to successfully recoup by claim with their insurance companies. This was back in the late 90's and I think things have improved since then but still....

There are now slips in Hole #3 in Georgetown. Cost about $500 a month. Safe and no theft or vandalism.

I said slips not moorings. Cavalli House has put in a whole bunch of slips. Moorings are unreliable for long term storage.

Nick and Carolyn Wardel volunteer leaders of BASRA, the ones that run the weather net on SSB, have a long face dock in a protected harbor on the back side of New Providence at Coral Harbor. But because it is on the same island, you have the advantage of good flight availability in and out.

The have long term storage available and it is Much safer than Nassau both hurricane and crime wise. Don't know if they have room for an 81 footer, but it is worth a call.

When in the Bahamas this past November I looked in at the boats on moorings in the hole/cove just north of volleyball beach in Georgetown (don't know what it's called). The moorings did not appear very far apart. Several boats had rub marks on their sides that looked like they may have come in contact with each other then there was no winds and the boats drifted about. Anyone else notice this?

Second on Nick Wardle. Safe, secure and right in Nicks back yard. I had my 41 footer there for two years and he is careful and reliable. If it's open there is space for an 81 footer.
