Lobsters in Bequia / Grenada

Found a great source of spiny lobsters in Bequia for all those non fisherman cruisers there. Take a bus to Paget Farm, XCD$2.00 each way. In the back of the Step Down Bar there are a lot of fishermen selling their wares. One of them, Cheyenne, sold us lobsters at XCD$12.00, and sold to landlubber expats at XCD$10.00 per lb. At XCD$2.68 per $1.00 US thats $3.74 per lb, quite a deal.
Now, does anyone know of a similar deal on the island of Grenada?

Re: Lobsters in Bequia / Grenada

There are local fishermen in Clarkes Court Bay that will stop by your anchored boat and offer to sell you some local lobsters. Most are quite small.

If you know some of the better fishermen in St Georges and north they do catch them but virtually all of their catch goes to the tourist hotel kitchens. You won't find any in the St Georges public fish market.

When we were in the Eastern Caribbean, we had our own scale. Don't mind paying their price per pound, but they seem to have "pre-fingered" scales. Never got an argument, but did get several sheepish smiles.

Re: Lobsters in Bequia / Grenada

Found a few sources very easily. Lower Woburn dock, just across from Clarkes Court Marina, XCD$15.00/lb, and St Georges Fish Market, XCD$13.00/lb. Have been told by locals I should be able to find them elsewhere a bit cheaper but why worry? That's a great deal as is.
Thanks to all for the input.
