Hi Every one.

If you had to drop your hook in your favorite place in the Caribbean, were would it be.

I think for me it would have to be Little Harbour, Peter Island , BVI . Affectionately known as Unemployment Bay. Off charter crewed charter boats hang out there for down time. It is to small for a lot of boats and there are no mooring balls so the charter boats pass it by . You usually have to drop a bow anchor and tie off to shore , to small for swinging in there. But what a great little spot just to relax and enjoy life.

Little Harbour is a great spot. We used to go up to the Chubb house there but last time I was there it was really deteriorating badly. As for charter boats, Sunsail used to have Little Harbour in its one week itinerary and all their boats used to anchor there on the first night after leaving Sopers Hole. Right in the middle where it's about 40 feet deep! Here's a picture of us anchored in Little Harbour, taken from the Chubb House.

That's A great picture!! I have one that's almost the same.

Yes the resort is getting very bad , dare not go inside in case the floor gives in. It must have been something in it hay day.

I tied my Stern line to what used to be the little change room at the bottom of the steps.

Hi John,

Yeah I'm still in Toronto. Put the CS36M to bed last week and will head down to FL late November to get the boat ready to go to the Bahamas.

Leaving Peter Island . I have been to Bequi, thats a great spot . I must go to the others .

Yes, Peter Island's special, but I haven't been there since 1989, so . . .

If I could pick just one place, it would be Playa Zaragoza, Isla de Margarita, though I've never been there. So why would I choose it? Well, once Southern Star (Brad) retires from his position in Ontario and relocates to Isla de Margarita, I'd like to travel there and meet someone whom I've come to respect greatly just from getting to "know" him on CF.

sestina has some good places, but my personal favorites are either Chatham Bay on the south west corner of Union Island, St. Vincent & the Grenadines ("Shark Attack" puts out a FAN-tastic meal on he beach) because so few people go there or my home port of Tyrrel Bay on Carriacou, Grenada because .... well - its my home port!

I didn't want to mention Chatham or Tyrell Bays, as I'm selfish enough not to want them to get too popular!

For scenery it's hard to beat Iles des Saintes.

What an idillyc spot it is. We stopped there for our first night on 19 September 2001 - Just 1 week after the whole American nation stopped flying (not unreasonably) which meant we not only had Little Harbour all to ourselves, although we didn't now how unusual that was as it was our first ever charter holiday, we also had most of the BVI to ourselves - what a memorable 2 weeks!

When Hurrican Felix ruined our Belize Plans last September the Moorings relocated to BVI and we agian chose Little Harbour for our first night (different crew) and we had the honour of Barry's (the Barracuda) company for the duration of our 24 hour stay
