Amazing the difference one 'p' makes. How does this influence your decision to come to New Jersey?

Yeah Sorry their aren't any.

Hoboken is kind of cool with an intense view of the New York City skyline but I would not call it pleasant.

As for imigration just bring an 8 ball and a knife you should have no problem getting in.

My advice is Falmouth to Falmouth, Massachusetts. That way you are going from old England to New England.

From the previous comments on the thread it does rather sound like this (or anywhere!) would be a better destination than New Jersey, the only problem is that with me being a Jerseyman and not English that Olde England to New England doesn't have the same "ring" to it for me..........

Forget about New Jersey. When you get there, the state cops will be all over you, the tax man will want his "cut", and as you are not from here, you may not be able to leave when your ready. As far a boaters go... New Jersey sux!

Go north, go south, but avoid New Jersey

New Jersey and you.... Toxic together....

I must confess that the descriptions of New Jersey in this thread have taken me kinda by surprise .......but then again I freely admit I know next to nothing about the various parts of the US of A. (10 days in Vegas probably doesn't count as having "done" America .........but for anyone who hasn't been - well recomended as a place that truly lives up and down to expectations and IMHO could truly only ever exist in the USA )

And I am not a gambler........normally

But back to NJ......probably not enuf to prevent a possible trip - as long as arriving in NJ was not actually Verbotten or I was guaranteed to be greated by a hail of bullets

A lot of people think New Jersey is nothing but toxic dumps, gangsters, and turnpikes, and Woody Allen claims that "A certain intelligence governs our universe, except in certain parts of New Jersey.”

Why are New Yorkers so depressed? Because the light at the end of the tunnel is New Jersey!

A couple of New Jersey hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head.
The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls 911 (emergency). He gasps to the operator: "My friend is dead! What can I do?"
The operator, in a calm soothing voice, says: "Just take it easy. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead."
There is a silence, then a shot is heard. The guy's voice comes back on the line. He says: "OK, now what?"

Talking

Just an idea 'mon vieux', how about sailing really close to the NJ coast (well, out of gunshot range anyway) and making landfall in NYC? It's a romantic (?) idea, I'm actually on the smaller island to the NNW of you so I could participate....which bar to for my pint of Randalls?
