1. No need to label it but if you must, it's coastal cruising and there's a whole class of sailboats made just for that.
2. It appears that I no longer have any capacity to deal with crowds. There was a time when I would have thought that that video looked like a fun place to be but now it just annoys me. The Key West Gay Parade that I saw, now that was an interesting crowd. Not the kind of crowd that I typically hang out with but very interesting and amusing.

I'm with you on that. That video looked like you would either be sitting in traffic or aimlessly hanging around on the street. I don't see any fun in that.


As far as the original question. I've always thought of cruising as living on a boat and sailing from port to port. Whether it be a week long cruise, a month long cruise or a cruise that goes on and on.

I'm not sure where chartering would fall in, but would have to say it wouldn't be cruising - just chartering.
