We're battened down here on Nevis
. It was raining heavily on and off and gusting up to 35 kts or so through the night. Then at 8 am the wind
simply died off and the rain stopped. It's been two hours and things are still pretty calm.
I looked at the Guadeloupe radar
(image below) and saw that Irene's eye was passing over us. She apparently took a jog to the north of the expected path, which is a good thing for us, because the really heavy stuff seems to be up north of us. I expect the wind
to reverse direction and pick up in a bit. I'm hoping we miss the 46 kts part!
That's little Nevis right in the eye...
