Supposed to weaken a bit after it passes Bermuda but heading towards the Grand Banks in the 110 MPH range.

Thank god for that. I am so sorry I missed your post this morning, I had to rush out and didnt see it. I was so worried this afternoon when I read it and worried you stayed aboard.

If your wife is looking up new boats can SHE pick the bloody colours? Girls are better than men at some boat things!!!

And by the way, a boat here that was swept away was named.... Swept Away! If you need a new boat try "Calm and Gentle" or "Placid Weather"?

Re: Gonzalo

Man, having been through the eye of 3 hurricanes and the warning area of several more, all I can say is I wish them the best. It is a miserable experience, I would guess even more so on a small island. Keep safe, Bermuda. We'll be pulling for you.

The sound is incredible. I wish you all the best of luck. Hang tight. Global news reported that some residents had ventured out in the eye to check for damage.

Mark I am clad I declined your invite to come across and hope every one is safe there but we have felt the remnants of the cyclone here have had pretty tough time we are now current position n7 50 29 w 40 25 46 723nm from Belem Brazil the highest wind was around 57 knots but had 3 days constsantly hitting us at 35 knots with 3.5 to 4.5 meter waves we lost vhf and all coms for 2days it's just taken another day to rig temp arial so hope this will last till we get there as phone coverage has been sparse to and as a U.S. flagged yacht Christina was behind us some 180 nm back Been trying to stay in contact with them but a container ship who passed us some 7 hrs ago said they where still plugging away I know my body can't take much more of a bruising have 2 safety jack lines attached to stop being tossed about but have whacked body against every part of the deck and helm and my two daughters are just as bruised and battered as me so will be clad to see day light today as winds are starting to drop off a bit

Re: Gonzalo

We made it!

BLISS is still afloat and swinging from her mooring in Convicts Bay/St. George's Island/Bermuda.

We haven't been out to her yet. When daylight comes, they'll open the boatyard shed and we can launch our dinghy to go out to her, but it appears as if the primary pendants (1-3/4 braided lower and dual 1" amsteel upper) held.

All three boats in the bay are still on their moorings.

The town is a mess. Several concrete roofs blew off. Most windows were shuttered, but some shutters blew off. Many trees and large limbs down. Reports of downed power lines, but didn't encounter any.

We sustained a direct hit from the storm...the eye passed over at about 9pm.

Thanks for everyone's well wishes.

Thats great news! Glad to hear things are looking good.
