Pensacola to Cuba race is in the works. Local guy is going soon. Doesn't sound like it's a problem, is it?

I'm curious as to when casinos and resorts take over Cuba?

Well, sailing TO Cuba is the easy part...

Piece of cake to "admit it", when you're not coming back home...

;-)

Piece of cake to admit it anytime, actually. Everyone has always said that almost no one ever gets caught. So, big deal.

(Of course, it probably was a big deal to the very few who HAVE gotten caught!)

Considering vessels don't need to clear out of the USA I can hardly see why going to Cuba is any sort of a deal.

For Americans coming BACK from Cuba its a big deal.

Try that and send me the video.

Glad I went when it was still Castro's Cuba. Hope to make it there again as restrictions ease, but before it devolves back into a version of what it was in the 1950's.

What did the Cuban authorities think of your guns?
Or am I confusing you with a different boat?

The Cubans are keen sailors, and very ingenious in their efforts to live the life afloat. Couple this with their choice to revere classic American cars, and the result is some truly stylish and seaworthy vessels, and a testament to their love of their tropical paradise homeland.

Floating Cubans
These Cubans Risked It All to Escape Communism. See How They Sailed to America.

They must long for the good ol' days of Fidel, where freedom of the seas was taken for granted:

Mariel Boatlift, 1980

The tradition continues today, with the diligent Cuban coastguards ever ready to assist boaters in distress:

Cuba SUNK Refugee Boat Day Before Obama Statement | The Daily Caller

The Cuban culinary arts are rightly noted for their tasty, wholesome folksy dishes, even in the galley:

Refugees ate bodies as boat drifted at sea | Daily Mail Online

It is not difficult to see why the Cubans love their homeland so...an island paradise with few cares and many delights:

Bloody Tally of a Fifty-Year Long Dictatorship

The story of how the Cuban people won their freedom by their independent efforts is captivating. The fascist swine Batista was originally installed by that right-wing totalitarian pacifist FDR, who around the same time was reputed to have said of that other Latin American despot Somoza: "he may be a S.O.B, but he's our S.O.B.":

Cuba's Batista

If you're going to Cuba anyway, spare a thought for the locals.....but be careful how closely you interact: you may be the cause of a disappearance, or become a local yourself. Long live the Revolution!

Very well stated, Micah . . . but so politically incorrect. You know that Capitalism is evil and Communism is liberating. Batista was corrupt and Castro a saviour. It's time to forget the wholesale theft of corporate and family businesses, and the homes of Cubans, rich and poor, whose families lived on the island for hundreds of years and the wealth they accumulated in the banks, and the firing squads held at 5 p.m. daily in Havana's sports stadium for those deemed "criminal" by the state, and those held without charges in Cuba's prisons for a lifetime, and those that were tortured or disappeared, and those that lost their lives fleeing from this virtual utopia that has been supported by other Fascist regimes like Soviet Russia, China and lately, until his death, the great humanitarian and liberator of the downtrodden--Hugo Chavez. Where, Micah, do you get such foolish notions? Don't you know that all that is important is that a few daring, self righteous and deserving American sailors can pin another merit badge on their cruisers vest of places visited and bask in the delusion that it's time to let bygones be bygones and open Cuba's doors without concessions or apologies. It's a new world, Micah . . . we must be accepting, forgiving, humanitarian . . . there's a ocean to cross with Cuban cigars, cafe cubano and cheap hookers and a country starving for Capitalist dollars to help provide a better living than the $23.00 a month government paycheck provided in Utopia. Why not, Micah, why not?. . . En poco tiempo . . .Vea Usted en Cuba!

Yes, my post regarding guns was to the OP. But if you've been to Cuba with weapons on board I'd be happy to here about your clearing-in experience.
