French Guiana ?

Just wondering whats up with French Guiana????

I have searched here and over on sailnet and there doesnt seem to be much information??

Is there a reason for this? Is it bad sailing? Unfriendly to cruisers?

Buddy of mine just returned from there... He said there was little in the way of yacht friendly facilities, and he either had to anchor out or tie up to freighter docks. He did say it was a favorite destination of his for shoreside excursions
