Florida to Guatemala

Would like to hear from cruisers who have done the trip from South Florida to Rio Dulce. Any information, Charts needed, safest route, cost of checking into Guatemala. I'm planning on leaving Florida after the hurricane season, late November early December.

Wow. so are we!

We are also planning to sail to Guatemala for S. Florida in November! I posted a similar request here. I'll let you know if I get any replies, if you will do the same for me.

We live aboard in Ft. Lauderdale. Where do you live?

If you need charts, waypoints, advice, etc. please PM me and I will send it off to you.
Have done that route a number of times and am currently in Isla Mujeres refitting my boat. Hope to get out of here before it gets too breezy.

l thank you for your message

Amazingly, we have the Rauscher book! Thanks for the suggestion. We're still planning the trip, but are undecided whether it's better to go down the Central American coast first or to shuttle over from the Eastern C. Any thoughts on this?
