Florida Keys in the Summer?

No that was in Salem, MA. The Keys are sounding a little too cold for me

Had a great time in the keys in August. It was actually cooler in the keys than it was in The St Pete area.

+1 on the mooring field being empty enough that you could get far enough away from other boats that you wont bother them. If anyone complains it is because they are jealous that you have A.C.!

Have moored in BKH in May and June. Didn't need a generator/A.C. that time of year but I imagine that if you are there in the summer running a generator to run an Air Conditioner then so is everyone else.

One of the times we moored in BKH we had a boat moored next to us that was running an Honda Quiet EU1000 almost constantly. We could not hear it until we drove by in the dingy. That was when I decided to get one for myself. Love it!

AC on a boat doesnt work all that well when the water temp is close to 90. At least mine didnt. It made a dent in the heat but never really cooled the boat all the way down.

Ours still works fine when the water temp is near 90, but with the added heat load of the water around the hull and the sun load the ac has a problem keeping up.

I've heard this complaint before and don't understand. Mine works fine in 90° water temp. I'm guessing something faulty with the system. If 90° wasn't good enough to cool a condenser, people in Arizona would melt!!

Why stay in a mooring field? I'd be anchored up in the contents. There's a lot of cool spots to explore via dingy and you'd find some lobster around easily on a calm day.

The contract you sign to get a ball in BKH states generators should not be run between 11:00PM and 7:00AM. At times it has been enforced from 9:00PM till 7:00AM.

Lobster season is closed from April till end of July and FWC enforces it.
