East Coast Weather question?

I'm planning to move my 40 ft Ketch from Camp Lejeune to Norfolk VA over the Labor day weekend. Can anyone pass some of their experience concerning the weather? I guess the next disturbance is forming now and the weather folks will have more on it tomorrow. Anything you can pass to me would be very helpful. Thanks

Hurricane season is upon you so be mindful of Danny. You have to watch hurricane weather on a daily basis since the ability to move fast may matter to your safety. It does not have to actually be a hurricane to hurt you bad. Left overs from a tropical storm can be terrible for navigation in the ditch. It might not make the local news but in a narrow channel it can matter. The sounds can be deadly in high winds with shallow water and short high chop. They will beat you senseless. They have been quiet this year but recently the activity is up. This is the worst time of the year for the worst storms.

Yeah, watching the WX now. Looking at the next one. Right now waters and weather look good. I intend to depart NC on Friday.
