I'm looking to get us cleared so our Golden Retriever can join us on the beach. Not necessarily in town. I did notice that one country's website had different rules for
animals that were there temporarily vs a longer stay.
I'm certainly willing to have all the shots, tests and paperwork taken care of. The official I emailed in
BVI said quarantine was not mandatory in our case.
I'm just thinking that since most islands have these strict rules, that if I go from island to island over 6 months, and our ships paperwork show that, the officials at the next country will have a more relaxed procedure since each time we're coming from another
Caribbean Island.
The steps that would be the most
work are vet certificates within 7-14 days of arrival, and some countries want the rabies shot within certain time periods, plus a 24-48hr notification of arrival. I keep thinking these
regulations are stated for
pets arriving by plane and are cleared at the
airport with very definite schedules.
I'm going to continue to pursue my
email quest for pet permits, eventually I'll get to present these questions to an official of each country.
