Charted Depths in Pamlico Sound

Most charts show the depth at MLW or maybe MLLW however in the Pamlico sound the tides are wind driven rather than lunar so what is being shown? I assume that it's the lunar tide albeit it small, but it would be helpful seeing just what the wind could do to those depths shown in the charts.

The gale can "blow down" the levels on the windward edge several inches, but I don't think you'd want to be out there then. I suppose it could be an issue for a keel boat anchoring in a relatively shallow spot, but no practical area comes to mind. The "middle" would probably be about the normal levels.

The wind can move the water a couple of feet (much more in storms) in the tributaries of the sound, but charted depths should be on the low end of wind-driven tidal range. This is the case for our creek, where charted depths are 4'. I have been on the bottom, just barely, a number of times with boats drawing 4.5 ft over the years.

Low tides on the ICW have been very low this month. I was aground at the dock at Barefoot Landing, something everyone says is not supposed to happen. Also the tidal swing is pretty large. At Swansboro they told me they had about a 1' swing but I saw 3-5'. Right now in Osprey Marina the dock ramps are almost impossible to get up at low tide if there's a frost on the ground.
