Cartagena Status

Hi all
We left Cowes Isle of Wight UK last May, toured the Med then sailed the Atlantic with the ARC in December, currently in St Lucia fixing the generator!
We are planning to sail for Panama via Granada and the north Venezuelan islands to Panama, then westwards.
The question is do we stop at Cartagena en route, if anyone knows the current situation there vis a vis marina, security, entry formalities etc we would be most grateful to hear the latest news.
Thanks in advance
Tim and Rebekah

Just as good, and possibly better, is to send a PM to Cruisers Forum member Soft Air. That member, JC, is an airline pilot who is from Cartagena. I believe he's there right now. Anyway, he's a great source for info on his fair city.

Tell him I said "Hi!"

Second that ! I helped him take Soft Air down to Cartagena from BVI and he sorted out entrance formalities, docking (there are a couple of good marinas) etc and showed me around the lovely old city. Not a Drug Lord or a Farc rebel to be seen! Tony

Its one place on our Top 10 "We should'a gone there!"

Ever since diverting well around the drug ripped, shady, corrupt, you'll die by midnight, country we have been told by one and all its just terrific.

We will definitly be there next time we are close... about a years time.
