Re: C & D Canal

I went in there with my last boat , had a 7 foot draft and got stuck in the middle , keep to the right side of the entrance near the dock and you should be ok with a 6 foot keel , sorry just checked , seems to have shallowed since they have removed the tie up at the wall , now the deep water seems to be on the east side of the entrance, shifts all the time , go slow

Regards

Re: C & D Canal

Check on Active Captain - that's what we used - but when we went in there in November 2014, the deeper water was definitely on the North/East (left side looking in) side of the entrance; there was a red buoy perhaps 30-40' off the harbour wall and motoring in/out up the middle between them, we found around 7' at low tide.

Once inside, there was 8-10' in the anchorage area to the northeast and about 5-6' off the free dock to the SW; it's soft mud there though and we ploughed-through and sat comfortably on the dock despite our 6' draft
