Bocas Del Toro, Panama Boat Storage

A few years ago I used to keep my boat at a friend's place in Bocas del Toro. Unfortunately, he finally drank himself to death.

We are thinking of storing the boat in Bocas this year again and looking for alternatives. Not marinas, but with very good boat keeping skills.

Anyone have recent experiences/suggestions?

Re: Bocas Del Toro, Panama Boat Storage

Seeking information on Bocas Marina or other suitable yards in the area of Panama and Columbia. We have a draft of 6.33 feet and want to get hauled and leave or boat for the winter 6 months. We need to be able to stay on the boat and be permitted to do some of the work our selves. Also we would want to hire a complete bottom job and spray painting the entire boat 46 feet overall, also would like to supply our on paint and various materials.
Appreciate any info you can provide.

Note that Bocas Marina and Bocas Yacht Services are related, but are in different physical locations. The boat yard (Bocas Yacht Services) is located in Almirante on the mainland. I cannot get their web site to load, but their published phone number 6619-5601. Alternatively just contact Bocas Marina. https://bocasmarina.com/

There are several other yards on the Caribbean coast of Panama that can haul you too:

Linton Bay Marina. https://www.lintonbaymarina.com/

PanaMarina. https://www.panamarina.net/

Shelter Bay. https://shelterbaymarina.com/

I've used all the above yards, except Bocas Yacht Services, in the past. I have stayed aboard and done work myself at all the above, but I do not know their current stay aboard/self work policies. Best to contact them for the most current info.

I am familiar with all the above yards and happy to answer any specific questions you have.

To update my own question with an answer:

I have used Agua Point Marina for a few seasons now. It is a basic storage marina only with no amenities, but the price is right.

Basic services like boat cleaning are available.

....also all three yards above offer both dry and wet boat storage options. I think the Bocas Yacht Services offer dry storage, but don't know the specifics.
