Bimini

We will be arriving in Bimini in a few days... looking for some guidance and suggestions. What sights should we visit, where are the great anchorages (5.5 ft draft), nice beaches etc... also looking for suggestions on the islands to the south like cat, gun, etc.

There is a good anchorage called Dollar Harbor on the SW corner of South Cat Cay. You will see a set of stairs cut into the limerock on the east side of the tip of the island where an old building use to be. From the point of those stairs to the east there is alot of debris on the bottom that makes for some interesting snorkeling. There's also a mostly intact army jeep sitting upright in about 20 ft of water there.

The cut between north and south cat is also a great place to take the dingy and swim. There's a sunken barge on the west side of Orange Cay that's good snorkeling but that's a few miles farter south. The north end of Gun has a nice beach but it gets very busy on weekend with the loud music types.


On North Bimini there's a bar you can hitch a ride or dinghy to called Ebbies that we like alot. Also some good conch shacks up that way.
