Bequia Bars and Restaurants

Hello,

We are writing a travel guide for Bequia and need a little help as there is so little in-depth information about the island available. Specifically, we are hoping you can tell us if any of the following bars and restaurants are still in business.

Tantie Pearl's
New York Sports Bar
Moskito's Beach Bar
Sailors Bar & Restaurant
The Porthole
Whaleboner
Hibiscus Bar & BBQ
Captain Mack's Bar & Galley
KD's Restaurant and Cake Shop
Harbour Cafe
Sha & Al's Veggie & Seafood Parlor
Lina's Bread & Deli

Many thanks!!

Your list is a little dated. Some of those places don't exist anymore and you have left some major ones out. I actually am in Bequia now for a few more days. I could gladly let you know of a more updated list and some insights if you like. Let me know.

Thanks Davo,

We already have a list of bars and restaurants that we know are still around. I was just wondering if any on that list above are still going.

Thanks!

Sailors is still going but they are having a rough go of it. Elfic is baking at night for the foreigners who bought up the several of the water front places.

Hello,

We are writing a travel guide for Bequia and need a little help as there is so little in-depth information about the island available. Specifically, we are hoping you can tell us if any of the following bars and restaurants are still in business.

Tantie Pearl's:
Yes. Upper Belmont overlooking Admiralty Bay. Good local fare.

New York Sports Bar
Yes. In town. More of a local bar across from the market.

Moskito's Beach Bar
No longerin Business. Lars closed it a little over a year ago.

Sailors Bar & Restaurant
Yes. A little worn these days.

The Porthole
Yes. The best Roti on the island. Dwight also has a great boat for trips to the Cays and Mustique.

Whaleboner
Ruthie and Carlos only open during the strong season. They close in early June. The new Whaleboner is now open in Spring. Not really open for the bar yet. Mamma runs her clothing factory there.

Hibiscus Bar & BBQ
They were closed when I went there, but really just for the season me thinks. This season was very slow.

Captain Mack's Bar & Galley
Yes! Great karaoke on Tuesday nights!

KD's Restaurant and Cake Shop
Don't know.

Harbour Cafe
Not sure which one you mean?

Do you have Hendi's and Baige?

Davo
Lina's Bread & Deli
Of course. The Yachties breakfast hangout. Best hot bread on the island. Now have a cappuccino machine!

Seems to me that if you're going to write an accurate travel guide for a place you should go there rather than rely on secondhand information.

Re: Bequia Bars and Restaurants

We have visited a number of the places we have written guides for. Unfortunately, it isn't always feasible timewise or financially to visit everywhere in the world. Fortunately, with good research and mapping skills combined with superior technology and site features, it is possible to write exceptional travel guides. At least that's what our visitors tell us.
