Belize in October - Good or Bad ?

Hey all,
planning our next charter and found a great boat in Belize for October. Just curious as to the weather in oct. Not so worried about the heat as the boat has a gennie and ac. We are just looking for some really great diving and such.
Thanks in advance

Will

Re: Belize in October good or bad?

The biggest issue is it's the tail end of hurricane season and Belize does not have many sheltered places to hide.

Re: Belize in October good or bad?

Just so you understand...

You can not take a charter boat outside the reef to Lighthouse, without a captain. Belize law. Diving inside the reef is just slightly better than snorkling.

If you have been anywhere else, please note that Belize is... Primitive. Outside of San Pedro and Key Caulker, there is NOTHING to do. For some, that is great. For others, not so.

Our charter cat did include A/C and a generator. They neglected to tell us that the generator was sized to run only 1 of the 2 A/C units at a time. Either A/C in the cabins, or in the salon. Not both. That and the genius that put the system together didn't think about seaweed fouling the A/C intakes. We tore apart bunks several times a night to clear them. On our monohull, I've NEVER had an A/C intake clog - living in South Texas.

Our final opinion: When we take off to go cruising, Belize will not be high on our list. And TMM is so far down our charter list, the defunct ones rate higher.
