Bahamas - Genoa or jib?

Trying to cut down the weight and space requirements on board. What makes more sense for the Bahamas this winter: 140% or working jib (105%), both roller furling?

In the past I had carried both. Now trying to simplify a bit. Which would you choose???

I would do the 140. You can always roll it up if you need to furl it. The sail shape may not be optimum partially furled, but there will be plenty of times when you will need the full sail.

I'd go with a 125.

Re: Bahamas - Genoa or jib?

The 140 has been my choice in the past, though there have been a few occasions when I was overpowered and wished for a little bit less canvas.

As an older sailor, you gotta love roller furling - especially for short handed sailing. Dragging sail bags onto a wet pitching deck is something I certainly don't miss!

Guess I will stick with the 140
