Antigua Anchorages

Am returning to Antigua and Barbuda this December and would love to hear Hotel restaurants are sailor friendly .Last year visited Jolly Harbour, Deep Bay , English Harbour, St James club , and Barbuda . Thinking of trying Carlisle Bay , Nonsuch , Jumby Bay. Any experiences would be useful.

Re: Antigua Anchorages

Carlisle Bay (Curtin Bluff) and Nonsuch are pretty ritzy places and I think you should be appropriately attired
Coco Bay,Jackie O's Love Beach, and Turners would be no problem and less formal.

Why can't things remain where i carelessly left them?

Re: Antigua Anchorages

Hello Keensailor

My family and I are also chartering this December in ANU - but this is our first time there. Your itinerary last year looks like our prospective one. Any tips or suggestions? We are shooting for a mix of quiet anchorages and those with more lively spots ashore.

Best

Green island in nonsuch bay is beautiful with a couple of great restaurants at the local hotels. We spent a month there this year. Great for kite surfing as well ..

All the spots are great , deep bay is a great spot though we hiked for 40 minutes to a restaurant returning through the royal antigua hotel which resembled the shining.Barbuda will be on if UncleRoddy is about to pick us up. Last year his restaurant hadblown away! Love NelsonsDockyard and Trappas, Admirals inn.

We love Five Islands bay (the Hotel 'had' free open WiFi - not any more I am told :-( ) BUT Nonsuch and Green Island are something else well worth a visit.

Re: Antigua Anchorages

Take a trip down to the Isle de San, commonly known as the Saints, just S of Guadalope. My favourite anchorages in the Carib, if not the world.

Enjoy
