| Alice Town (Bimini) Channel Depth
Does anyone have any recent information on the channel depth into Alice Town, Bahmas? Noonsite suggest that the channel has been dredged to 11'. Hard to believe, since the last time I was in there the depth was under 5' (of course this was 10 years ago). I'm contacting the local marinas too, but sometimes they are overly optimistic. BTW, my draft is 6' and my arrival date is sometime around Dec 10th (a negative tide day!). Best Regards, Andy S/V Kalliope |

There a year ago and there is a new cut running straight east towards the condos with the breakwater/channel entrance and it had over 10 ft. It used to have nice red and green lights but I think they have all been hit and no longer functional. It was dredged for the fancy marina they have built. You will still run aground inside just to the ocean side of the Big Game Club if you get too close to the northern shore.

Yep, "new" dredged channel will take you through just fine at 6'. No more looking for the pink house like you used to do 10 years ago. Last I saw, they had floating markers out there...just drop big game or another marina a quick email or call to see if they are in place or not. Have fun. Rob

I was there in April and kissed the bottom off the entrance to the marina on South Bimini with 5 feet. Otherwise no problem. Dick Pluta AEGEA |

Different entrance. Likely you already know that, but channel to N. Bimini and Alice town is good.
