I towed an 11 foot whaler all the way to Chub Cay from no-name harbor.

I took it out of the water at Chub Cay, and put it on the foredeck, because I knew I was going to be getting some rollers crossing the TOTO to Nassau. I never had the first problem. The next time I go to the Bahamas, I am going to be towing a 15 or 17 Whaler behind me. The fun when you get there is worth the risk in my book.

I know you will get plenty of people saying it can't be done, or shouldn't be done. As long as you know that if you read the weather really wrong, you might lose it (and need to lose it) I say do it.

There is always risk when a ship is out of the harbor. And, everybody has a different degree of risk they are willing to take. The only thing all boaters have in common, is that we will take risks to go to sea in the first place.
