Across the Atlantic - Where Can I Participate ?

Hello all!
I am fresh here and i am here because i have no idea where to look

Next year (2011) around April/May i want to sail one way from:
Europe to America/Canada accros the Atlantic.
Is there a place where people with boats search people who want to join?
I think i heard there are "Cups". Not that i want to win something, i just want to get over the Atlantic and take that lifetime experience

I used to sail with my Father and his ship when i was younger.
It is some years ago, but i think can handle the task. :]

greetings!

Hi and Welcome...
Think you may have a problem straight away.. not many folks sail the Atantic westwards about that time of year... mainly delivery..
might be better looking at Nov and the Arc whan theres often crew wanted.. but also more competion..lol.
As to places to post.. theres a board on here and you could try www.noonsite.com
Also stick 'Crew Available' notices up at local B/yards, clubs etc... may not be a Trans but could gain you useful fresh experience...
Good luck..
