Abacos to Spanish Wells

Hello:
Can anyone offer guidance for a best route and point of entry into Spanish Wells?
Is a pilot needed or is there an easy way in?
Boat draws 5 feet.
Thanks

If you head west of Spanish Wells and go around egg Island you can come right up the channel no problem. The only place you would need a pilot would be to go through wide opening or from Spanish Wells to Harbor Island

Re: Abacos to Spanish Wells

We have taken 6ft draft into Spanish Wells from both directions. No problem.

I agree with the Egg Island approach, simple and straight forward. The closer approach through the reef requires the ability to read the water, as does the trip across the Devils Backbone to Harbour Island

We waited near Little Harbour for a good weather window then headed to the Egg Island approach. We stayed away from the Devils Backbone.
