Re: 6 weeks in Antigua/Barbuda, where to go see?

I'll just throw out a land experience and a boat experience there that we particularly enjoyed.

Betty's Hope is a partially restored sugar plantation with a historical interpretation center. The sugar mill is in prime condition--the best I've seen on any of the islands. It's a really interesting view into how things were in the colonial days.

Anchoring inside the reef at Spanish Point on Barbuda is a special experience. It's highly likely that you'll be all by yourself, enjoying the breezes in a perfectly calm anchorage. There are coral heads all around for snorkeling, and we saw turtles and dolphins while enjoying our morning coffee in the cockpit. It's a really beautiful and peaceful spot.

Then head up the west side of Barbuda and anchor off the nine-mile beach. The most beautiful turquoise water you'll ever see!

English Harbour, of course, and as Hud says, 9 Mile Beach on Barbuda. But provision first!! The only resturant on 9 mile beach is about $200 per head! They have to bring in a chef for every booking...

Rent some wheels and go exploring, ask at the Dockyard how to find and access the bat cave, in an area once an apollo 10 tracking station, its amazing inside. Try to get up to fort Monk, overlooking Falmouth.See if you can get in the abandoned sugar mill [near airport] there are[or were] many old English built steam locomotives, and all the equipment inside had small steam engines.
Lots of 'off the beaten path' things to do. Bruce.
