Wintering in Adriatic Suggestions

Next summer we plan to cruise Montenegro, Croatia and Eastern Italy down to the boot. Any suggestions on a good marina for wintering our boat? We don't need a marina social life since we will be back in the states Oct to May. Looking for something safe and secure for the boat and preferably very reasonably priced.

You don't state whether in or out of the water, but if out you could consider Crotone just round the 'heel' of the boot. Australian friends are wintering there and found the Porto Vecchio Service yard there (- Porto Vecchio services - Cantiere Nautico e Marina attrezzata.) inexpensive.

We haven't visited Crotone since 2004, when I prepared the entry on the town for the world Cruising and Sailing Wiki (Crotone - a Cruising Guide on the World Cruising and Sailing Wiki), but it has since been updated by the local municipality.

We can winter the boat in or out of the water. Generally we winter it in the water due to the strong winds we have encountered in the Med

1. Vieste Italy, two Marinas
2. Aquileia Italy, however problems with draft

all others I know are much more expensive.
