The French Atlantic coasts have very cheap mooring -- nothing like the Med coasts. We usually paid 20 or 30 euros for a 54' boat, rarely more than 40. It will cost more than this only in the big cities. Bring an electrical tester, long extension cords, and Shuco plug adapters -- the electrical supplies are quite dodgy, and usually only 6 amps.

Or, as Conachair said, the opportunities for anchoring are unlimited.
