Transitlog transfer

Hi,
We have recently purchased a yacht in greece, a swedish flagged boat. It is now re flagged as an Australian boat.

With the vessel documents we aslo got the DEKPA. Is this the transit log? What should my steps be in order the restart the clock as a new “import” and get a new transit log as a new owned vessel.

Thankyou

DEKPA = Transit log.
You need to contact customs to amend the data on the document (they may issue a new one in case of change of ownership/flag but I am guessing only).
Is the VAT paid? I am almost sure that the clock of allowed exemption time (18 months) continues to run notwithstanding the sale.

Thanks merriba.
The Vat has been payed.
Customs is not the same as port police? I have read a few articles that others say to contact port police for a transit log

Sorry, my mistake - the DEKPA is managed by the port police.
Anyway port police is NOT the same as customs... sometimes the may occupy the same building but this is not always the case.

Re: Transitlog transfer

DEKPA is for EU boats, non EU boats need a transit log.
