Suitable anchorages/ports near Nice for liveaboards?

Hi,

work will most likely see me moving from northern Germany, where I live on my 10.70m x 6.10m x 0.75m catamaran, to the south of France.
Ideally I would like to continue living down there on the boat.

The boat is registered in Germany & I'am a German citizen.

Now my question, does anyone know of a suitable port which is not forcing me to rob a bank to pay for it.
The boat has all systems (Water & Power) onboard so I would also consider an anchorage.

Does anyone know how French officials are reacting to permanent liveaboards?
Is it legal to live on a boat. I would try to get my mail via the office.
Does one need to swap anchorages regularly?

Specifically, I am thinking of the "Rade de Villefranche".

Thanks for your thoughts,

Franziska

Hey thanks, thats helpful.

Still, actually I am more interested how officials react to (seaworthy!) boats lying permanently at their own anchor.
Can they force you to leave if you behave properly?

Luckily anchorages are still free of charge most of the time...
