Ironically ... 'Pol' in Cornish means pool or sheltered anchorage for boats !

Porthleven ..... Means smooth harbour !

i do not wish to anchor in that pol - me god no no no…but there is a smugglers cave up on the beach…oops! now you know where my bandannas are!

Last week, the shipping forecast had "Sea state: phenomenal".

Wind West gale 8 to storm 10, becoming cyclonic 6 to gale 8 later.
Sea State Very high or phenomenal, becoming very rough.
Weather Squally showers.
